Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service Plan 2012 to 2015
Group areas
Havant and East Hampshire
- The Havant and East Hampshire group covers a mainly rural area of 220 square miles and has a population of 225,140 people.
- The group contains some of the most socially deprived areas in Hampshire, large areas of open countryside, major road networks and high-speed rail links. These cause major risks for the area. The local economy is supported by a strong farming industry, as well as manufacturing and service industries.
- The Ministry of Defence has large bases in Bordon and there is an airfield at Lasham with a facility for storing oil and gas.
- We will continue to focus on the work we do with our partners to reduce the number of fires started deliberately and reduce accidental fires through community safety work and by working with the public.
- Our prevention work will focus on vulnerable people who are most at risk from fire, so we can provide fire-safety advice. We will continue to work with our partners to make life safer in our local community.
