The Service
Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service Plan...
Hampshire has a population of over 1.7 million people, and covers an area of 1455 square miles.
To deliver our services across this area, it is important for us to improve and meet the changing needs and risks within our communities.
To deliver our services effectively, we divide our stations into group areas, which are based around districts so that we can work more closely with local authorities. Each of these areas has its own unique circumstances which we take into account when we decide how to prevent fires and other risks and so that we can make life safer.
Our risk profiles identify the main risks within each group area, so we can plan how we will deliver our services more effectively. These profiles link to group plans which outline in more detail the work we will do in each area. We also use group plans to manage our performance so that we can be sure that our resources are being used effectively and that the service we deliver meets the wide range of needs of everyone within our communities.
Each of our fire stations has it own number (see below) and you will sometimes see this on the fire engines.
