Role Markings

With the change from Rank to Role coming into force on 1 April 2006, HFRS is adopting new uniform insignia denoting the eight roles, from Firefighter to Chief Officer, on operational Personal Protective Equipment [PPE].

Notes

  1. Firefighters ‘acting’ as Crew Manager for a shift will wear just one Crew Manager velcro mounted collar insignia patch on PPE.
  2. Some specialist roles will be identified by embroided titles on epaulettes, e.g. Operational Equipment Technician or USAR.
  3. Control Room insignia will, for the time being, continue with the existing system of identification.
