Fire and Rescue Authority Members Allowances Scheme 2011/2012

(At the HFRA meeting on 08 12 10, it was agreed that the Members Allowances be frozen at existing rates for the next two years (2011/2012 and 2012/2013) at 2010/2011 levels)

Special responsibility allowances

Only one special responsibility allowance is payable to any member under the scheme. (The allowances in brackets will not be paid whilst the current postholder receives a higher special responsibility allowance in respect of another post.)

Basic allowance - £2,943 per annum
Special responsibility allowances:
- Chairman of the Authority - £14,469 per annum
- Vice Chairman of the Authority (x 2) - £1,769 each per annum
- Chairman of Committees (x 5):
  - Finance and General Purposes - £7,305 per annum
  - Governance - £3,535 per annum
  - Human Resources - £7,305 per annum
  - Performance Review - £4,121 per annum
  - Standards - £1,944 per annum
- Vice Chairman of Committees:
  - Finance and General Purposes - £1,769 per annum
  - Governance - £881 per annum
  - Human Resources - £1,769 per annum
  - Performance Review - £1,063 per annum
  - Standards - £486 per annum
Independent Members (x 3) serving on Standards Committee - £666 each per annum
Minority Spokespersons on HFRA:
- Liberal Democrat Party - £7,238 per annum
- Labour Party - £3,616 per annum
Board Director of South East Fire and Rescue Control Centre - £2,000 per annum
Member for Communication Liaison - £1,063 per annum
Financial recognition for Members involved in Disciplining/Grievance Hearings (should it be necessary for Members to be involved, financial recognition to equate with LGA rates in such cases)
