Strategic Projects and Specialist Response
USAR : Vehicles
The New Dimension USAR project team has provided a fleet of vehicles and equipment that enables a USAR team to operate at multiple incidents involving catastrophic collapse of one or more large structures. Each team has three prime movers available to transport any of five USAR modules.
If necessary, all five of these modules could be mobilised simultaneously by utilising prime movers allocated to mass decontamination or high volume pumping.

carries several tonnes of structural timber for use at incidents requiring extensive shoring.
Hampshire has enhanced its USAR fleet by purchasing an additional module that can either transport our large Manitou vehicle or can be used as a flatbed lorry.
This enhances our USAR capability but is also utilised for any other incident where the Manitou may be useful e.g. barn fires, large animal rescues etc.
Hampshire also has further specialist equipment on our own USAR support vehicle specifically fitted out to fill gaps not covered by the New Dimension project and to provide some of our specialist rescue capability. This includes:
On top of this Hampshire has provided the team with an estate car and a ‘utility vehicle’ for everyday support work.
