Community Response
Developments
The role of Fire and Rescue Services is constantly developing to deal with new challenges and the equipment available for the various roles and scenarios of fire and rescue work is always evolving and improving. Keeping up-to-date with these changes is the job of the Operations Department and more specifically a small part of that team is involved in operational development.
The operational development department is based at Service Headquarters and is responsible for identifying, trialling and reporting on new items of operational equipment for use within Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Some of these projects are large-scale involving extensive research and evaluation with information being gathered from other Fire Services, equipment manufacturers and suppliers and other agencies. Others are minor projects involving short term trials.
