What is workrite?

In the latter part of 2007, the Health and Safety Department started trialling a web-based Health and Safety System called 'Workrite' with the intention of setting up a pilot scheme of 300 Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service users.

Workrite has been developed by Posturite (UK) Ltd and it offers online workplace health and safety training solutions, including Display Screen Equipment (DSE), Fire and Manual Handling. The system is able to store the results from any of the training and assessments undertaken.

How will it be used?

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service is going to use the DSE training and assessment package, called Assessrite. The system itself guides you through the DSE training which you are legally required to complete, and then afterwards you are able to undertake a DSE self-assessment.

Using Assessrite

Below are details of how to access the system if you are taking part in the pilot:

Logging on

Once you have received your login id and password go to www.workrite.co.uk
Enter your id and password in the appropriate boxes on the right-hand side of the screen, then click the 'Log In' button, see diagram below.

Start training with assessrite

Click on the link to 'Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service Assessrite', as shown in diagram 1.
Assessrite will open in a new window.
If the window is smaller than your screen, you can maximise it to make it easier to follow. Do this by clicking on the maximise icon (see diagram 2).
Work through the training a section at a time, starting with section 1 and so on.
When you have completed the training, close the browser window by clicking on the close icon. NB: If you are completing the training whilst logged into the HFRS network, make sure you close the correct window (see diagram 3).

Changing your password

Click on the 'Change your password' link (see diagram 1).
In the appropriate boxes type your current password, followed by the password you wish to change it to (see diagram 2), then click on the 'Change password' button (see diagram 2)
Note that the password has to have a minimum of 6 characters and can be a mixture of letters and numbers.
You will receive onscreen confirmation that your password has been changed (see diagram 3), followed by email confirmation from 'software@posturite.co.uk'
Click on the 'continue' button, this will take you back to the main screen (diagram 3).

Assessrite logging out

Click on the link that says 'Click here to log out' (diagram 1).
You will receive on screen confirmation that you have been logged out (diagram 2)
