Physical resources - equipment

Each year Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service responds to an increasingly diverse range of emergency calls. Indeed, last year over 28% of our calls were to non fire related incidents - that's nearly 3,000 calls.

In order to meet this challenge we have to equip our frontline vehicles with the most modern and sophisticated equipment available. With equipment often available from several manufacturers, stringent testing and evaluation is carried out by the Operations Department to ensure it fully meets the user requirement/specification. The equipment is then placed 'on the run' for final test before acceptance. All new equipment is issued with a Scheme of Safe Working, standard test routine and record card.
