Members of the Hampshire Fire and Rescue Authority

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Authority is responsible for ensuring the Service has the resources it needs to deliver a range of high quality services and that these services are managed in a cost effective and efficient manner across the county of Hampshire.

Membership of the Authority comprises 25 local councillors nominated by the three constituent authorities: Hampshire County Council (19 members), Portsmouth City Council (3 members), and Southampton City Council (3 members). Membership and political composition of the Authority can be summarised as follows:

The current Chairman is Councillor Michael Cartwright. There are two Vice Chairmen: Cllr Phil Heath – who is also Chairman of the Authority’s Finance and General Purposes Committee; and, Councillor Royston Smith. Councillor David Kirk is Chairman of the Authority’s Performance Review Committee.
