Corporate direction

Corporate Direction (18 kb)

Starting with the box called Corporate Direction this is where we set our mission - 'to make life safer' - and the five corporate aims and top-level targets or 'outcomes' we want to achieve.

Mission

Our mission is clear and simple:

"To make life safer"

Corporate aims

We have set ourselves five challenging corporate aims to make Hampshire safer:

Reduce deaths and injuries from accidental fires by 20% by 2010.

Divert Resources

Work with others to reduce deaths and serious injuries on the road by 40% by 2010

The first three aims are consistent with Government expectations set out in the Fire and Rescue Service National Framework 2004/05. The last two are aims we have set locally.

Achievement of them is critical to all that we do - particularly those actions we are taking to deliver our Integrated Risk Management Plan.

Fine words, but how are we doing in meeting these aims and targets? You can click on each of the aims to see the relevant performance indicators.  Alternatively, you can go to our indicators pages to see all the best value, local and activity indicators.

Values

Just as important to us are the principles and standards of behaviour we will follow when delivering our services and managing our resources. We have consulted our staff and other stakeholders on a set of values. Read more...

This set of values is consistent with those contained in the 2005/06 Fire and Rescue National Framework.

Improvement plan

We are committed to a process of continuous learning and improvement. Our strategic planning process with its emphasis on consultation and review is designed to support and encourage this.
