Corporate Planning Process
In this section of the strategic planning framework we set out the top-level objectives and activities we will be pursuing to deliver our front-line services.
These are set out under the three headings: 'Preventing', 'Protecting' and 'Responding' and together these provide the backbone of our Integrated Risk Management Plan (or IRMP for short).
We say what and why we are taking particular actions, and how and when we intend to carry them out. You will see that in the 'live version' of the IRMP we also provide progress statements against each action, and we monitor our overall performance very closely using a wide range of output measures and performance indicators.

We measure our performance against national indicators, where available, providing comparative data. There are referred to as performance indicators and include our future targets and a short commentary/action statement for each indicator. The tables, graphs and commentaries are regularly updated as data becomes available. View our performance indicators...
We have implemented a range of initiatives to modernise the services we provide to the community, more detailed information is given in our IRMP.
