Fire crew work hard to stop spilt fuel from entering drains in Stockbridge

Crew have worked hard to stop over 100 litres of fuel from entering drains after a lorry overturned near Leckford Estate, Stockbridge.

A small lorry carrying 8,000 litres of liquid sewerage overturned by Leckford Estate in Stockbridge at 11.56 hours this morning.

Crew used containers to collect the leaking diesel to prevent it landing on the road surface and entering the street’s drains.

The driver was transported to hospital by South Central Ambulance Service. Attending crew included pumps from Andover, Stockbridge and Eastleigh. Crew are awaiting a recovery vehicle and the road will remain closed until it is made safe.
