Driver Awareness

Blue Lamp Trust launches driving training courses for the public

18 Oct 2011

From October 2011 anyone will be able to buy places on driver awareness training courses run by the Blue Lamp Trust. These courses are based on the highly successful Hampshire Police course that is offered to members of the public as an alternative to prosecution for speeding offences. The courses are delivered for the Trust by police trainers and provide an update on relevant road traffic legislation and the Highway Code.

The course is suitable for any driver, it doesn’t matter if you are a young driver looking to consolidate on limited driver experience, an experienced driver who wants to ensure they keep up to date with changes or a driver that has lost confidence and wants a refresher on the law and Highway Code.

The Trust is running the course initially in October at the Holiday Inn, Eastleigh;

  • 22 October 2011 - Saturday morning – 9.15 am for 9.30 am start
  • 25 October 2011 - Tuesday evening – 6.15 pm for 6.30 pm start

The Trust will be releasing further dates for Eastleigh for November and starting to deliver training in Portsmouth and Basingstoke. The course will cost £49.95 and will last for three hours and fifteen minutes. Attendees will be provided with tea/coffee during a break at the course midpoint.

Because drivers aged 17 to 24 years are the highest risk group for being involved in a car crash, the Trust is offering a small number of places to drivers in this age group at a special rate of just £39.95. Places are limited and this offer is proving popular so please book early to avoid disappointment.

You can book now by calling the Trust on 023 8074 5282.

The Blue Lamp Trust is a registered charity. By buying your driver training through the Trust you will be supporting the Trust in helping vulnerable and elderly people in our community and providing grants to local groups for community based projects. Driver training will also help reduce the number of people killed or injured on the roads of Hampshire, which is one of the Trust’s charitable aims and objectives.
