Meet the enforcement support team

Autumn 2007 saw the introduction of a new Enforcement Support Team at Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, providing legal and enforcement support to the protection teams in Service Delivery - possibly the first team of its kind in the country.

Fair and effective enforcement forms an important part of our strategy to reduce the risk of death and injury in the workplace by enforcing fire safety law. The Enforcement Support Team's primary role is to investigate all cases submitted by fire safety personnel for potential prosecution of businesses for breaches of fire safety law. This involves analysing the case, identifying all possible offences and determining if sufficient evidence is available for a prosecution.
