About - Breathing Apparatus and Fire Behaviour Training

The BA and FBT school is responsible for: the delivery of all initial training in the use of breathing apparatus, a proportion of ongoing training, conversion training for transferees and the training of all BA instructors within the service. Compartment fire behaviour training is delivered to all operational personnel within the service.

The school also provides live fire training for other fire services and agencies.

A development project is nearing completion, which will see the service providing multi compartment/multi level live fire training, which will enhance the training to all roles who respond to operational incidents, and the provision of accredited instructor training within this field.
