About Training Centre

The Training Centre within Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service is located at the Service Headquarters complex in Eastleigh. It was opened by Her Majesty The Queen in 1985. The centre is responsible for delivering high quality and structured training to HFRS employees and other agencies.

The Corporate Aim of the Training Department is "To support our staff to develop their skills and abilities in order to achieve their potential and in doing so improve the effectiveness of the organisation and the quality of service we provide".

In order to achieve these Aims the Training Department offers a wide and diverse range of courses from Initial Trainees Courses, for both Wholetime and Retained personnel, to Breathing Apparatus (Initial and Instructor Levels), First Aid (Initial and Instructor levels), Road Traffic Accident basic and Instructor, Trauma Care, Fire Behaviour Training, Methods of Instruction and Driver Training to mention just a few.

In addition the Training Centre offers a range of management development and career progression courses such as Local Crew Command and Local Watch Management courses.
